Country and Western Night Show
In Puerto del Carmen there is a place that is perfect to spend the day. There are animals of all kinds, shows, swimming pools, slides … reading only this I’m sure you want to visit it and enjoy a day at Rancho Texas. But what if I tell you that some nights of the week you can also attend to a fun show and have dinner while you have a great time?I’m talking about the Country Night of Rancho Texas.
First of all, I should explain the name of Rancho Texas. At first glance it would seem that Lanzarote has nothing to do with the state of Texas, but nothing is further from reality. Several families of Lanzarote were among the founders of San Antonio de Texas back in 1731. The first mayor of San Antonio was Juan Leal Goraz, a native of Teguise. And today San Antonio is twinned with the Canary Islands in honor of the first founders.
To enjoy the show it is better to arrive before the opening of the doors. We arrived at 6:30 p.m., more than enough time to park the car. A tip, do not leave the car parked in the first parking lot, since that is for the entrance to the park by day. For the night you have to enter the park above, simply follow the arrow that says Country Night and enter through the gate of the stockade. There is also a shuttle service that takes us directly to the door, or we can get there by taxi.
While we queue to enter and the show begins some cowboys come to us to give us directions and children can ride a horse drawn cart that gives them a short walk.
We enter the room where we settle at the tables that surround the stage and the dance floor, while live music is played and the members of the show serve us the first round of drinks. There is something very important that you can’t forget all night long and it is loud yelling “YEEEHA!” if we want to be served with more drink throughout the night.
At seven o’clock in the evening, with everyone sitting down, and after a photographer has passed by all the tables to take a picture of us, the “American Parade” begins. The girls dressed in cancan costumes and the boys in the purest cowboy style.
After the parade it is time to throw the bow to the children. I have to say that the little ones have a great time, they can be seen all night playing and dancing to the rhythm of country music. But not only do the little ones enjoy the house, far from it!
When all the children have already been lassoed, it is time to set up the buffet. The staff rides a long tables with food and you have to decide which sectors get up first to take your food. It is time to prepare the lungs and throat to scream as much as you can, because the sector of the room that makes more noise is the one that first goes for your food.
The barbecue buffet that awaits us has salads, potatoes, beans, ribs and chicken cooked in charcoal, and you can repeat! If you are a vegetarian, there is no problem, you just have to tell them beforehand so they can prepare something for you. For dessert there are ice creams for everyone. Together with the dessert they bring us the photos that they took us at the beginning of the night and if we want we can buy them to take a souvenir home.
While we are having dinner, the spectacle of lasso and lash begins. Then there is a line dance demonstration that everyone who wants to learn to dance have just to go to the dance floor. There, the dance girls teach the steps in a very easy way.
If you do not like dancing or you do not dare, it may be your thing to get on the mechanical bull. You only have to buy a ticket in the denim store where you can also find hats for all tastes, toy guns for children and much more. The theory is easy, climb the bull and endure as much as you can before ending up on the mat.
To end the evening a magnificent dance number with all the members of the Rancho Texas team takes place. Four hours of show and dinner where you will have a great time, whether you go with children or adults only two nights a week, on Tuesdays and Fridays in this Country Night.
