Itinerary

Arrival at Fuerteventura by ferry

When visiting the Canary Islands, it’s always tempting to want to visit more than one island during your holiday. Fuerteventura is just a stone’s throw from Lanzarote, and you can visit by joining one of our Lanzarote-Fuerteventura day trips. There you can delight in the many virtues of an island that once inspired Spanish poet, Miguel de Unamuno (whose house is now a museum there), for its surrealism, beaches and dormant volcanoes.

Let’s sail towards this spectacular backdrop on our ferry from the port of Playa Blanca in Lanzarote. We’ll collect you from your nearest pick-up point before departing at 09.30 from the port of Playa Blanca.

A visit to the fishing village of El Cotillo in Fuerteventura

On arrival at Fuerteventura, we begin our excursion by heading to to El Cotillo to discover the charms of this fishing village with breathtaking cliffs and beaches. You can also visit the Fortaleza del Tostón, one of the village’s landmarks, that beckons you to leave the stress behind and take refuge in the magic of the Canary Islands.

Aloe Vera Museum

After visiting El Cotillo, we make our way towards Betancuría passing through the picturesque towns of La Oliva, Téfia and Tiscamanita, and also the Aloe Vera Museum. Betancuría was the ancient capital of Fuerteventura and was built with different architectural styles and nestled among mountains and tropical gardens. Today it is one of the island’s most important cultural centres. Stroll through its ancient streets, discover local handicrafts or take a peep at the donkey pacing amidst the cactus and flowers. Canary Island tradition at its finest.

Cheese Museum Fuerteventura

Fuerteventura’s well-known cheese is made from goat milk and is one of the island’s delicacies. Learn how it’s made and taste the variety of delicacies at a traditional cheese museum in Fuerteventura, where a range of products are prepared and seasoned in different ways: some smoked, some rubbed with gofio, others with full and spicy flavours.

Corralejo Dunes National Park

Our Grand Tour of Fuerteventura has passed through may of the island’s great secrets. Now it’s time to discover the greatest of them all. We’re heading to the Corralejo Dunes Natural Park, where the desert meets the Atlantic Ocean to present us with one of the most beautiful landscapes in the Canary Islands. The perfect place to feel the sand between you toes, relax in its gorgeous pools or contemplate the nearby Isla de Lobos, that sits majestically on the horizon.
