Hiking north route Lanzarote

Description

Why is it worth it to walk the north route of Lanzarote ?

You will discover the varied flora and fauna of the island among which there are some bird species that you will observe during the tour.

You will also know how one of the most important lava tubes in the world was formed and that it created two unique spaces, such as the Cueva de los Verdes and los Jameos del Agua.

You will see the path of the "gracioseros" and their history, elements of the Second World War and the war in Cuba as well as learn about natural dyes all accompanied by incredible views of the Chinijo archipelago and the north of Lanzarote.

Itinerary

Stroll among the volcanoes

We will stroll through volcanic tunnels that make up some of Lanzarote’ most iconic attractions: Cueva de los Verdes, part of an ancient passageway that connects the ocean with the heart of the island; Jameos del Agua, a garden with a swimming pool, auditorium and exotic plants. All of this makes a perfect composition inside a lava tunnel whose roof collapsed to form a window to the sky.

Both of these magnificent places were transformed by César Manrique, Lanzarote’s prodigal son who was famous for blending art and nature in unique and iconic places. Unforgettable places.

View of La Graciosa

Any hiking tour of Lanzarote will end on a high, and in our case, the icing on the cake is Mirador del Rio. This Manrique creation blends huge panoramic windows into the cliff face, forming the perfect window to the Chinijo archipelago, and the main island of La Graciosa, recently declared the eighth Canary Island.
