Guided Walking Tours to discover Lanzarote

Hiking amidst volcanoes

Lanzarote has countless volcanoes which every once in a while still surprise the islanders with some of the most powerful eruptions of the last few centuries. The volcanic activity has left its mark on a landscape leaving the impression that we might be on another planet.

Volcanoes Natural Park is most likely the place that best evokes this unique island feature. Only as recently as 1736, the volcanoes here were quite active. One of the best hiking trails in Lanzarote takes almost 5 hours to complete, crossing magical scenes where lava is still latent in some areas. On this Timanfaya Hiking tour you will have several opportunities to peer into a volcanic crater.

Naturally, a qualified tourist guide will be with you throughout the excursion; transport and an appetising snack are all included.

Hiking in the North

The northern part of Lanzarote is one of the most exciting areas of the island, especially because it is home to the creative universe of César Manrique.

Our Norh Route Hiking tour in Lanzarote takes up to 5 hours to complete, and will guide you through some of the most beautiful corners of Lanzarote, starting with Los Jameos del Agua. Los Jameos del Agua Park is located in a "jameo", a cave formed by collapsed volcanic tunnels. Here you will find an ensemble of cacti, water, rocks and events all making an ideal background for the perfect selfie. This is definitely a paradise that has been articulately woven by Manrique. You can also hike to another of one his masterpieces: Mirador del Río. This is a scenic overlook located at a height of 482 metres providing a panoramic view of “La Graciosa,” the eighth official island of the Canary Islands.

After visiting these two works of art, we move on to Teguise, the former capital of Lanzarote and the ideal white-washed village to drink in the island's traditions and peace. This village boasts 400 years of history. From here hiking continues to another of the best scenic overlooks of the route: Valle de las Mil Palmeras (Valley of the Thousand Palms), an ideal setting to get that panoramic view of Lanzarote in all its splendour.

This excursion includes a tour guide and transport; other amenities such as snacks, drinks or tickets are available for just a little extra.

Discover la Graciosa by foot

La Graciosa is one of the most secluded islands and it is quite challenging to get there. That´s why the island is still authentic and wild. The best way to explore the island is on foot so check our 12km hiking tour to La Graciosa.
