Night diving in Lanzarote

If you thought you’d seen and done everything in Lanzarote, you’re mistaken. Dive down to Lanzarote’s sea bed in an extraordinary night dive. You’ll discover a whole new sensation, like how the sea teams with life when daylight disappears. It’ll be the closest you’ll get to the feeling of travelling to outer space!


 

Minimum age: All ages welcome

Technical requirements: to do an adventure dive you must hold an Open Water qualification (we’ll provide a theoretical class) or hold an Advanced Open Water certificate and be accompanied by a Dive Master (no theory class necessary).

Dive location: Playa Chica in Puerto del Carmen (which is deeper, up to 20 m) or in Playa Jabillo.

Maximum dive depth:  20 m

Dive duration: 30-45minutes.

Marine life in the area: octopus, starfish, crustaceans, rays, chuchos, cuttlefish, angelfish.

Number of dives included: 1

Activity start time: between 20:00 and 20:30 pm

Pickup points: Playa Blanca, Puerto del Carmen, Arrecife, Costa Teguise

Itinerary

Straight to the beach to dive at sunset

Once you’ve made your booking we’ll be in touch to take note of your measurements, so that we can prepare the equipment for your dive.

We will dive at Playa Chica in Puerto del Carmen or at Playa Jabillo in Costa Teguise, depending on sea conditions such as currents and visibility. Whichever location we choose, we’ll pick you up if you have no transport.

 

Frequently asked questions about night diving in Lanzarote


Is insurance included?

Certified divers must have their own insurance.  If you don’t have any, we’ll take a surcharge of €6 per dive.

 

Will I be diving alone or will there be a guide?

You will always be accompanied by a Dive Master, whatever your level.

 

Do I need previous night-diving experience?

If you haven’t been on a night dive before, this will be your first amazing experience! If this applies to you then please book the “ 60€ Night Dive Adventure.” A quick theoretical class is provided with this excursion.

 

Can I take part if I haven’t completed my Open Water certificate?

No. The Open Water qualification is the minimum requirement for diving at night.

 

Can I take part if I haven’t brought my Open Water diver’s card?

Yes.If you have a PADI or SSI qualification you don’t need to show your card. We will verify your qualification via these institutions’ databases beforehand.

 

What equipment will you provide for night diving?

All of the usual diving equipment plus a powerful torch.

 

What’s the difference between diving by day or at night?

The marine life comes out to hunt at night and there’s a lot more activity. It’s the best time to see the animals in their natural habitat.

 

Can I use my own equipment to dive with the group?

Yes. If you have your own equipment, by all means bring it. It will be cheaper for you. If you already have night-diving experience you just need to select the 45€ Night Diving - I bring my own scuba equipment

 

TO BEAR IN MIND

 

  • If you do not have private diving insurance, you must hire one with us. You will have to pay  6€ at the scuba diving school.

  • Remember that it is not advisable to dive 48 hours before taking a flight.

  • Remember that it is not advisable to dive if you have a cold that secretes mucous.
